The man arrested last Saturday in Getxo (Bizkaia) for threatening a group of young people with a chainsaw has been taken to prison after the guard judge ordered them to be placed in pre-trial detention.
The charges against him occurred in the early morning hours of September 12. This man, with a police record, was following several people in Algorta with a chainsaw in his hands.
Apparently,after a discussion, he threatened them. The man in prison showed up with a chainsaw and started threatening several young men.
Soon after, the chainsaw stopped, and the young men took advantage of it to hold the assailant. During the quarrel, the man inflicted a wound. Then the police found the chainsaw and arrested the attacker, a neighbour of Algorta. In addition, two other people suffered minor injuries and were treated at the scene by health services.
According to the City Council, the Getxo Guard Court ordered the detainee to be placed in prison on Monday after testifying. The detainee was taken into custody.
