"Connect to the research stream" will be the motto of the 27th edition of the solidarity initiative organized by EITB, which will be characterized by the collective wave that the citizens will make.
On Tuesday, EITB hosted the presentation of this year's EITB Maratoia campaign on gynaecology and breast cancer at its headquarters in Bilbao . With thesoundtrack of the song "Elektrizitatea"by Zea Mays, the mottoof the 27th edition of the solidarity initiative organized by EITB will be Konekta zaitez Research Stream.
Together with the director of ETB, Isabel Octavio, the Director of Health Research, Innovation and Evaluation of the Basque Government, Iñaki Gutiérrez Ibarluzea, participated in the presentation, which was also attended by representatives of associations working on gynaecology and breast cancer.
The survival of gynaecological and breast cancers in the Basque Country has been progressively improved in recent decades. Population screening programmes and the development of new therapeutic strategieshave led the Basque Countryto create a strong and effective model that is a national and European benchmark.
However, there are still many ways to go. In this sense, the creative concept of the EITB Maratoia campaign presents research as the energy that drives progress and innovation . Each discovery generates new knowledge, opens up new opportunities and contributes to improving people's quality of life.
The motto Connect to the Research Stream aims to convey a clear and direct message that research is everyone's business . Onlythe involvement of citizens, health professionals, researchers, associations and institutions will make future progress possible. That is why the campaign uses the image of a stream to represent the collective energy that connects people to a common goal.
"Electricity," by Zea Mays, this year's soundtrack
To reinforce the message of the campaign, EITB has chosen the song "Elektrizitatea" by Zea Mays , a reference song in the Basque musical landscape that focuses on energy, movement and connection and is fully in line with the spirit of the campaign.
This year's edition will also use a special 25th anniversary version of the song, reinterpreted by women artists, with the participation of Afrika Bibang, Ylenia Baglietto, Sua Enparantza, Izaro Lizarraga, Ariane Vegas and the Easo choir.
Citizen participation and collective wave
