The UN has denounced total impunity for attacks on humanitarian workers and has denounced the slowness and apathy of the international community.
On World Humanitarian Day, the UN has reported that 2024 has been the deadliest year for humanitarian workers since records were recorded, with 383 dead.
In 2025, 265 humanitarian workerswere killed , 173 of them in Gaza and the occupied Palestinian territories, 36 in Sudan and 3 in Ukraine. The International Committee of the Red Cross recalls that the rules of war are clear: humanitarian personnel must be respected and protected under any circumstances.
In addition, the Red Cross has reported that some workers have been killed out of service , in the home , with their families or simply carrying out daily activities. a number of others have been injured, arbitrarily arrested or abducted.
