As expected, the two motions of censure imposed on the Government have been rejected. The motions of censure have been submitted to Lecornu for having passed the 2026 Budget Bill without a vote .The motion tabled by the Insumisa France, the Greens and the GDR (Communists and Overseas) has obtained 260 votes, without reaching the 289 required to suspend the Government.
Lecornu has reproached each other for "sabotaging everything" and "blocking" the budget debate in Parliament in recent months.
Today's is oxygen for both the Executive and for Macron, who avoids early elections , as demanded by Marine Le Pen's extreme right and Jean-Luc Mélenchon's leftist France.
From now on, Lecornu will finally be able to leave the budget issue behind and focus on the March municipal elections ; and work on making the year beforethe 2027 presidential productive.
Measures
The French State budgets finally approved on Monday set the public deficit at around 5% in 2026, compared to 5.4% in the previous year, taking into account the downward trend agreed by France with Brussels, which the Government plans to put below 3% by 2029.
