The French Public Prosecutor's Office is investigating the social network X (formerly Twitter) following a search in its offices and has called to testify the owner of the company after the investigation opened a year ago.
The French authorities have searched the premises of the X social network and summoned theowner of the company, Elon Musk , to testify before the courts for questioning, the Paris Public Prosecutor's Office reported in a statement.
The Department of Anti-Cybercrime of thePublic Prosecutor's Office has conducted the search , together withthe national cyberunit of the Gendarmerie and Europol , as part of an investigation opened in January 2025.
The prosecution states in its statement that as a result of these proceedings, X will cease to be published on the social network.
