British Prime Minister Starmer wobbles over the Epstein case
Prime Minister Keir Starmer appointed Labour Peter Mandelson as US ambassador to the United Kingdom after appearing in the documents on the Epstein case.
The Epstein casehas caused dust in the United Kingdom to the point of compromising the continuity of Prime Minister Keir Starmer. In the last few hours, two members of his team have resigned and even the Labour Party itself have called for Starmer's resignation.
Starmer appointed Labour ambassador to the United States, Peter Mandelson, after appearing in the Epstein documents, his leadership has been called into question.
Two senior officials in the United Kingdom have resigned in 24 hours, Morgan McSweeney Chief of Staff and Tim Allan Director of Communication.
But those resignations have not lowered the pressure on Starmer, quite the contrary. Starmer apologized for believing Mandelson's lies and appointing him ambassador to Washington.
To this day, Starmer has no intention of resigning, even though yesterday his party's leader in Scotland asked him to step back.
On the other hand, members ofhis cabinet have expressed support for the Prime Minister, including Deputy Prime Minister David Lammy, Foreign Minister Yvette Cooper, Defence Minister John Healey, or Interior Minister Shabana Mahmood.
