Authorities have reported that more than 100 soldiers were on the plane, some of whom have survived.
A Colombian Army transport aircraft crashed on Monday in the south of the country, as confirmed by the Colombian Aerospace Force, which has not yet specified the number of casualties.
The Colombian Defence Minister himself, Pedro Sánchez, has confirmed that the plane crashed inthe Putumayo region "as it took off from Puerto Leguizamo". The authorities have reported that more than 100 soldiers were on board, some of whom have survived.
Sanchez has specified that military units are at the scene of the incident. "However, the number of victims and the causes of the incident have not yet been accurately reported," he explained, noting that protocols for the care of victims and their families have been activated and that an investigation has been initiated.
