The president of the Spanish employer CEOE, Antonio Garamendi, has warned that the Basque Autonomous Community has "a problem" with investments, which, in his words, is "less invested than in other territories" of the Spanish State in Bizkaia, Gipuzkoa and Álava, and has called for "reflection" on the reason behind it.
Garamendi participated this morning in the event convened by the Club de Roma in Bilbao. "The investments that arrive in the Basque Country, compared to those in other communities, are much lower (...) and do not make investments in sectors that we should work on," he explained.
In his speech, the head of the CEOE has placed special emphasis on the calls for strikes. He has said that about 50% of all strikes in the state take place in the ACV, which 'does not help much'. He believes that 'social dialogue' is necessary to manage labour disputes.
