The NationalDisaster RiskManagement Unit ( UNGRD) reported that 285 people died and 379 disappeared as a result of the earthquake that struck Colombia on Monday.
The epicenter of the 7.4 degree earthquake was in San José del Palmar, in the department of Choco, in the Pacific region, with the latest data showing 3,975 injured and 45,523 families affected, in addition to the destruction of 12,828 homes.
UNGRD has specified that the number of broken homeshas been reduced from 74,873 to 73,455 because engineers are still carrying out a thorough assessment of the actual situation of each of these houses.
