The yellow warning for waves up to 2.5 meters has been extended until Sunday
The Basque Government's Directorate of Emergency and Meteorological Care has extended until Sunday the yellow coastal risk warning for waves of up to 2.5 metres, the Department of Safety has reported.
Today, Saturday, the yellow warning will be in effect until 6:00 p.m. According to Euskalmet forecasts, the significant wave height may exceed 2 meters.
The wind will blow from the southwest with a force of 2-3, but in the central hours of the day it will touch the north and cause a curly sea or seafood.
On Sunday, the yellow warning will be activated from 21:00 to 00:00. Significant wave height will rise to 2-2.5 meters in the last few hours. The northwest bottom sea will raise waves of about 1.5-2 meters in the last few hours.
This morning waves of 2.6 metres were measured at the Bilbao station, 2.5 metres at Sopelana and 2.1 metres at Mutriku.
