"Bizkarsoro" closes EUNIC, European Film Festival
The European Film Festival EUNIC Brussels Film Festival will conclude on Thursday, October 16, with the screening of the filmBizkarsoro (2024) , directed by Josu Martinez. The Basque Etxepare Institute has reported that the festival has broadcast films from nine countries that make us reflect on the challenges facing Europe today , and that the last one will be\ u00A0.
The activity of the Basque Etxepare Institute has encouraged the participation of Basque productions in the Brussels film festival, the aim of which is to project and publicize Basque culture and creation internationally. Thus, on the occasion of the 40th anniversary ofthe film Tasio (1984) by Montxo Armendáriz, the festival was opened.
As for the film Bizkarsoro, it proposes to tour the historical memory through five stories located between 1914 and 1982. Located in an imaginary village, the film is "an exercise in reflecting on the identity, language and cultural resistance of Iparralde. "
Thanks to its contribution to the EUNIC Brussels network, the Basque Etxepare Institute, together with the Basque Delegation to the European Union, "develops activitiesand proposals to promote dialogue and cooperation between cultures, influencing diversity and contemporary creation ".
