Hollywood, ready for the 98 Oscar ceremony
Sinners has broken records with 16 nominations and Sirat has been nominated for the Best International Film, with Emma Stone, Jessie Buckley, Rose Byrne, Timothee Chalamet, Leonardo DiCaprio and Benicio del Toro.
Conan O'Brien will host the gala.
The 98 edition of the Oscars will be held this Sunday at the Kodak Theatre in Los Angeles, Hollywood. All the spotlight is on the red carpet and the stage, where host Conan O'Brien will announce the awards in this year's categories.
In the Best Film category, the favorite is The Sinners, directed by Ryan Coogler and starring Michael B. Jordan. The film has broken records with 16 nominations, more than All About Eve, Titanic and La La Land .
In the category of best actor , nominated Timothee Chalamet (Marty Supreme), Leonardo DiCaprio (One Battle After Another), Ethan Hawke (Blue Moon), Michael B. Jordan (Sinners) and Wagner Moura (Secret Agent O) are some of the most outstanding performances of the film season.
In the category of best actress , the nominees are Emma Stone (Bugonia), Jessie Buckley (Hamnet), Rose Byrne (If I Had Legs I'd Kick You), Kate Hudson (Song Sung Blue) and Renate Reinsve (Affeksjonsverdi).
Benicio del Toro (One Battle After Another), Jacob Elordi (Frankenstein), Delroy Lindo (Sinners), Sean Penn (One Battle After Another) and Stellan Skarsgård (Affeksjonsverdi) will compete.
In the best director category are Paul Thomas Anderson (One Battle After Another), Chloe Zhao (Hamnet), Ryan Coogler (Sinners), Josh Safdie (Marty Supreme) and Joaquim Tier (Affeksjonsverdi).
In the documentary section, The Alabama Solution, The Perfect Neighbor, Cutting Through Rocks, Come See Mee in the Good Light and Mr. Nobody Against Putin will compete.
