Javier Giner opens his first feature film on October 30
In the film This Loneliness, the Baracaldés filmmaker, author of the award-winning series Yo adicto , has portrayed "two young men who survive the savage tenderness of disorder and loneliness."
Basque director Javier Giner premieres in cinemas on October 30 "This soledad", his first feature film, his first work after turning the autobiographical book Yo adicto into a series.
Starring Oriol Pla and Marina Salas, the story is set in a Bilbao "full of wounds" written by Giner himself and Luisa Matienzo and starring Gemma Martínez and Kai Etxaniz.
The film is about "the existential hole," "the silences that we live in these fragmented and chaotic days," and it also deals with "the difficulties of self-restraint and the fragile bonds that we establish when the whole environment collapses."
Through precariousness and exhaustion, "This solitude is the story of their attempts to resume (imperfect, torrid, and sometimes beautiful), "says Giner.
