The prosecution has appealed the third degree imposed on Henri Parot on the grounds that it is premature
He points out that not enough time has elapsed since he was given the semi-liberty regime that allows him to volunteer.
The Public Prosecutor's Office of the National High Court has appealed the third degreeof prison granted by the Department of Justice of the Basque Country to the former leader of the A0ETA Henri Parot on the grounds that it is "premature".
The prosecution has filed an appeal with the Central Prison Supervision Court.
Prior to the award ofthe third degree, Parot was in semi-liberty under Article 100.2of the Prison Regulations of the Basque Government, which allows him to leave prison from last year to volunteer from Monday to Friday and return to prison at night.
In its written statement, the Public Prosecutor's Officeacknowledges the proper development of the prisoner during the serving of his sentence, the proper development of this form of semi-liberty provided for in article 100.2, the absence of incidents and social and family protection.
However, it points out that the time that has elapsed since the application of Article 100.2 is not sufficient to consider fully consolidated the factors that would allow access to the third-degree semi-liberty regime.
Henri Parot was imprisoned in 1990 and is serving a 40-year sentence .
