The thirdterm of office of the President of the Spanish Government, Pedro Sánchez, is coming to an end. The time has come to take stock of the three-year legislature, in which gross domestic product has grown by more than 2% over the last three years, the Spanish Government has allocated more than EUR 100 billion of European funds and has approved measures to deal with price increases.
Housing
In the area of housing, the Spanish Government has stopped issuing so-called golden visas , which until then were granted residence permits to foreign persons for the purchase of a home in Spain in excess of 500,000 euros.
One of the star measures of the Coalition Government was the creation of Casa 47, the state's new housing company.
Economic growth and record fundraising
In these three years, the Spanish Government has allocated more than EUR 100 billion of European funds, and the strong economic growth has been over the years, with Spain 's gross domestic product growing 2.4% in 2023, 3.7% in 2024 and 2.6% in 2025.
Tax collectionhas broken records and this has helped reduce the public deficit.
Labour market, wages and pensions
The labour markethas also broken records, with Spain surpassing the barrier of 22 million members, driven by the rise of foreign workers.
Wages have also risen, but rising prices and housing costs have limited household purchasing power.
Asfar as pensions are concerned, they have been increased on the basis of the CPI, and flexible or delayed retirement has been approved.
