Maider Etxebarria to repeat as PSE-EE candidate for mayor of Vitoria-Gasteiz
The socialist was elected on 17 June 2023 and became the first woman to be mayor of the Alavesa capital.
The current socialist mayor of Vitoria-Gasteiz, Maider Etxebarria, will be the PSE-EE candidate inthe municipal elections on May 23, 2027.
As reported this Tuesday by the PSE-EE, Etxebarria will appear this Wednesday to announce his candidacy for the Mayor's Office.
Maider Etxebarria was elected on June 17, 2023, becoming the first woman to be mayor of the Alavesa capital.
EH Bildu was the most voted party in that year's municipal elections and won 7 of the 27 councillors, while the PSE-EE won 6 councillors, the same number as PNV and PP, while the remaining 2 were won by Elkarrekin.
However, Etxebarria was appointed mayor of the PSE-PNV coalition government with the votes of both members and the PP to avoid electing EH Bildu candidate Rocío Vitero.
