Gamarra will no longer be PP General Secretary this weekend; who will replace him?
However, Gamarra will remain close to Alberto Núñez Feijóo, probably leading the party's Justice area. Miguel Tellado, the PP's spokesman in Congress, is one of the candidates to replace Gamarra.

PP General Secretary Cuca Gamarra will leave the People's Party at this weekend's congress in Madrid , although he will remain close to Alberto Núñez Feijóo, leading the party's Justice area, as confirmed by popular sources.
At a press conference, Gamarra has declared that a new era is now beginning, and he has raised with Feijóo the need for "a relay." The change announced unexpectedly has started bets on who will be Feijóo's second.
Miguel Tellado PP's congressional spokesman is one of the candidates to replace Gamarra. The 51-year-old Galician is one of Feijóo's trusted men.
Since October 2023, he has served as spokesperson by decision of Feijóo, with whom he has a close political relationship since Tellado became general secretary of the Galician PP.
Another candidate for greater prominence is Ester Muñoz , currently undersecretary of Health and Education.
Born in 1985 in León, he holds a degree in Law and a master's degree in International Law. In recent years he has been one of the most prominent figures within the PP. He began his career in the Party's New Generations.
Close to the president of Castilla y León, Alfonso Fernández Mañueco, Muñoz began to take the lead at the state level after the general election in 2023, when he was elected to Congress.
A few months later, Feijóo appointed him deputy secretary as part of a reform he had undertaken to give weight to the voices of women and young people in his leadership.
TheMEP Alma Ezcurra , a Madrileña born in 1986, is another of the candidates to take over from Gamarra, trained in law, who began his career in the founding of the FAES foundation of José María Aznar and who was an adviser to Mariano Rajoy in La Moncloa.
In the 2023 elections, he was elected to the Madrid Parliament, from where he gave a tough speech on the Amnesty Act.
