Tellado will be the PP's general secretary and Ester Muñoz's new spokesperson

PP leader Alberto Núñez Feijóo announced on Wednesdaythat his current congressional spokesman, Miguel Tellado, will be the new secretary general to replace Cuca Gamarra.
In addition, Feijóo has advanced in an interview with Antena 3 that the deputy of León and deputy secretary of Health and Education of the PP, Ester Muñoz , will be the new spokesperson of the Group of the European People's Party (Christian Democrats) and European Democrats in Congress.
In this way, he has opted for two strong profiles in order to achieve a more direct opposition to reaching Moncloa.
According to Feijóo, these are "two important changes" and are "two models, two young people" with organic experience, in the case of Tellado, and a parliamentary one, in both cases.
On Monday, Cuca Gamarra confirmedthat he will leave the General Secretariat of the PP . Gamarra was in that position since the April 2022 congress, when Pablo Casado left, but will continue to be a member of the party's steering committee, probably head of the Justice area.
"I take over and ask for it," Gamarra said at a press conference at which he defended the need to "adapt the party structure to the challenges facing the PP" in the face of the "serious events" that are being known about the "corruption" of the PSOE.
Now, Feijóo is betting on Tellado as number two in the People's Party. From that position he would set the party up for the next election. In principle, there are elections in 2026 in Castile and Leon and Andalusia.
When Feijóo was elected president in April 2022, he supported Tellado as Deputy Secretary of the PP Organization, but left office in November 2023 to take over the spokesperson for the People's Group in Congress.
Tellado is the most trusted person in Feijóo, since he was general secretary of the Galician PP from 2016 to 2022, when he was in charge of the Xunta de Galicia. He can now reward his fidelity with the PP's "second" nomination, as announced by various sources.
