On Friday, the Central Operational Unit of the Civil Guard (UCO) searched the headquarters of Acciona in Bilbao, ordered by Supreme Court Judge Leopoldo Puente, for information on former PSOE leader Santos Cerdán, as well as the cooperatives Erkolan and Noran of San Sebastián.
According to sources close to the investigation, the officers have gone to the offices of Acciona in Bilbao, Madrid and Seville to carry out the searches ordered by the judge.
When Santos Cerdán and former Spanish minister José Luis Ábalos began to investigate, the investigators turned their eyes to Acciona, the contractor of some public works.
One of the reports stated that Ábalos and his adviser, Koldo García, had allegedly been given "substantial amounts of money" in exchange for public contracts.
Indeed, the Central Operational Unit concluded that the resignation of Santos Cerdán was related to the award of Acciona to Acciona in the works of the Belate tunnel (Navarre).
Former PSOE Secretary of Organization Santos Cerdán was imprisoned on 30 June on charges of belonging to a criminal organization, influence trafficking and bribery.
UCO pulled out four backpacks.
The search at the headquarters in Bilbao ended at 3:15 p.m., and the officers took four backpacks from the residence.
The same portal where Acciona's offices are, but on the fourth floor, is the PSE-EE headquarters.
This search has been carried out in conjunction with the registration at Acciona's headquarters in Madrid.
Acciona: "No irregularities."
Acciona Construcción has confirmed the searches carried out by the Central Operational Unit of the Civil Guard (UCO) at two headquarters in Madrid and Bilbao, although the company has ensured that this does not imply "any irregular activity".
In fact, the company has explained that all the required documentation has been delivered, noting that there has been full cooperation with the agents at all times.
