The French Ministry of Education has promised to present a proposal for a Basque bass
The "good" attitude of Minister Geffray has been highlighted by the representatives of the Euskera Public Organization and the Basque elected members of the Assembly who have met with him, but Seaska has lamented that they have returned "empty-handed", considering that action is needed beyond their intentions, and has announced mobilizations by the end of the month.
For the first time, representatives of the Basque Public Organization and the Basque elected representatives in the French National Assembly have discussed the possibility of doing the bass, the brebeta and the big oral in Basque with the French Minister of Education Geffray.
They met in Paris on Monday and left the meeting with a commitment from the Minister, who has promised to put on the table by April a proposal that would allow the Basque language to be made in Basque by reshaping the international bass formula that takes foreign language as a peculiarity.
The Basque representatives have also asked the Minister, in addition to the possibility of these tests being carried out in Basque, to ensure bilingualism in public education and the importance of local languages, such as the Basque language, in the training of teachers.
Seaska, on the other hand, is not of the same opinion and, despite the Minister's position, has called for mobilizations because the Ministry is still sterile in its actions. Seaska regrets that the Basque delegation has returned "empty-handed". Beyond the intentions, it considers that action is necessary.
The Federation of Ikastolas of the Northern Basque Country says that, as a result of the work carried out in recent months, there are already conditions for examinations in Basque later this year.
Seaska has therefore announced that it will begin a new phase of mobilisation on 24 January.
