The Basque Government

The package responds to the demands of the Basque industrialist in a context of growing geopolitical uncertainty and will be structured around four main axes: protection of employment, financial support for SMEs, diversification of SMEs and energy autonomy.

A summary, in two words, of what will be news in the Present today.

The spokesman for the Basque Government and Councillor for Governance and Self-Government has assured us that if the agreements signed today are included in the document to be signed, 'the agreement may be close'.

Another important factor highlighted by Counsellor Ubarretxena is the dependence of the Basque Autonomous Community (CAV) on the plane.

The purpose of the meeting is to ensure that airports do not lose the classification of general interest, but to create a bilateral organization to manage them.

The Spanish Government delegate to the ACV, Marisol Garmendia, believes that "an agreement will be reached" on the creation of a bilateral agency for the management of Basque airports. She has expressed a different view regarding the Port of Passages and has ruled out removing the classification of general interest, since the removal of this classification would "degrade the port and endanger the 400 direct jobs it has".

At this first meeting, the five main axes to be included in the University System Plan have been set out. In the coming months, planning will be defined to ensure adequate actions and infrastructure.

The Minister of Territorial Policy, Ángel Victor Torres, has explained that "the Conference of Presidents has a rule that all presidents must be present and that the conditions are not met" because this Sunday there are elections in Castilla y León and they are awaiting investiture in Extremadura and Aragón.

Flanders, which are stateless nations, like Quebec or Catalonia, will henceforth join UNESCO and the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO). 

The Provincial Council of Álava is preparing a series of fiscal measures to support companies in the face of the war in Iran. "We will use our fiscal capacity to, among other things, urgently and exceptionally implement concrete measures to ease the financial tensions of companies," said Ramiro González, MP for Álava. 

The mayor of Errenteria, Aizpea Otaegi, has announced that "all means will be put in place" and that "the judicial procedure will be exhausted" so that the appeal against the call for the selection of 25  administrative posts will have "an unfavourable resolution". She has denounced that "there is an organized desire to thwart the existing path of coexistence and consensus".

At the meeting of the Industrial Defence Group, the President, Imanol Pradales, announced that his Government is preparing 'a first package of measures if the situation continues and becomes more complicated', and urged the Spanish Government and the EU to do the same.

Unemployment will officially begin on the night shift on March 15 (22:00), but by that date a four-hour stoppage was also called in an earlier call, so the plant would stop from 18:00 on Sunday afternoon.
