The fire has damaged cereal fields already harvested and a pine tree.

The fires have affected the neighborhoods of Ametzola and Matiko in Bilbao, and the Ertzaintza is investigating what happened. Sugar has also affected the facades of the shops in the area, but there have been no injuries.

The Basque Government's Department of Security has confirmed that the fire originated around 00:35 in a vehicle parked in the garage, so far there have been no injuries.

The fires are taking place in 11 regions of the country and at least 7,000 people have been evacuated in the vicinity of the capital. Fire spokesman Vasilis Vathrakoyannis has explained that six aircraft have been orderedbecause "the fires of the last few days have become very large and are dangerous." The situation is expected to be difficult because high temperatures, droughts and strong winds will continue in the coming days.

The forest fire declared in Ibi (Alicante), near the Font Roja Natural Park, has managed to perimeter and no longer has flames, although the fire is still active in Navaluce (Ávila), with a perimeter of 26 kilometres, and is already 1,500 hectares.

The Tecnalia Research Centre has been accredited to conduct large-scale fire testing under Canadian regulations. This aggregation is in addition to those obtained for the United States or the United Kingdom. This achievement opens up business opportunities for construction industry companies in regulated and demanding markets beyond Europe.

A forest fire has destroyed a historic shelter in the Grand Canyon in 1928 and some 80 infrastructure in Arizona. Governor Katie Hobbs has called for an investigation into control of the disaster by the U.S. federal government.

So far, the fire has burned about 3,200 hectares, of which about 1,125  are inside the Els Ports Natural Park. Yesterday, the President of the Generalitat, Salvador Illa, said that "if all goes well" the fire could be stabilized today. 

A major fire at a Bayonne Vocational Training Centre at noon has left four people injured, 45 firefighters have had difficulty extinguishing the fire and 200 people have been evacuated.

Management doesn't rule out someone intentionally lighting the fire and the investigation is open. 

This is the second major summer fire in Catalonia, and the situation is really complicated. The fire is progressing uncontrollably, driven by strong winds, and there are 18,000 people in nine villages confined.

The strong wind, temperatures above 30 degrees and the dryness of vegetation, especially after last week's heat wave, make the work of firefighters very difficult.

The fire started around 23:30 in the basement of a housing building on San Josepe Street. At first four portals had to be evacuated, but the residents of three portals were able to return home during the night. 

According to Nectarios Papadakis, deputy mayor of the municipality of Ierapetra, several houses in the area have been burned down by flames. "We have suffered significant damage," said Papadakis. He added that the fires have also burned forests and olive fields.

Yesterday's violent "sixth generation" forest fire in Lleida has left two dead and unprecedented records in Catalonia: a 17-kilometre pyrocluster and an expansion speed of 28 kilometres per hour that soon burned 5,300 hectares.
