The mayor of Zumaia has congratulated all the parties involved in the negotiation of the Balenciaga shipyard, with special mention for the workers.

An agreement with the staff for the purchase of the shipyard was a prerequisite, so the Arab group will acquire the Zumaia shipyard for 11.2 million euros. 

The Labour Inspectorate found that the company had replaced the workers on strike with other workers on the staff and the TSJPV has confirmed this conclusion.

Mikel Fernandino, representative of the LAB union, says the news is very good because the demand is "very voluminous" and "European."

The company based in Beasainhas ended the uncertainty surrounding this  contract, where there was a lot of controversy, as the French company Alstom already has several factories in Belgium, which was criticised for not getting the contract.

On 30 November, the Balenciaga shipyard signed a sales agreement with the aforementioned Arab investment group for EUR 11.2 million. Si the closure of the purchase is a prerequisite for reaching an agreement with the workers.

The unions have called off the indefinite strike, in agreement with the management, after 83 days of unemployment.

The change of shareholder of Talgo has been signed by the Basque consortium (Sidenor, Finkatuz - Basque Government - and Vital) and the public company under the Spanish Government for Industrial Holdings (SEPI), as well as the return of the group's registered office and tax office to Rivabellosa (Álava). 

The Department of Food, Rural Development, Agriculture and Fisheries has announced that it will relinquish a plot of 22,400 square metres of land, the use of which has been limited by the Government to the construction and repair of ships. The Balenciaga shipyard has 10 days to pay for this authorization or to make allegations.

The President has pointed out that there is a new "era of continuous change" at the global level that leads to "unprecedented instability," and believes that the answer is "to activate one's capabilities, set a higher pace, and join forces," while advocating "attracting foreign investment."

Three regions account for 68.9 per cent of total employment in the Basque Country: Bilbos Grande (38.9 per cent), Donostialdea (16.6 per cent) and Llanada Alavesa (13.3 per cent). 

The consortium of CAF and Alstom will supply 22 Regiolis trains to the operator SNCF Voyageurs for the Provence-Alpine region of Côte d'Azur. CAF will design and manufacture the trains and Alstom will supply various equipment for the unit. 

The Works Council has launched a mobilisation campaign to address the "deterioration of labour relations". The Works Council, at its meeting on 1 December, gave the green light to the mobilisation campaign with the votes in favour of ELA, LAB and ESK and the abstention of UGT, CCOO and Ekintza.

EH Bildu has warned that the announcement of the operationmay "make the purchase of  more expensive" because it is not yet completely closed.

The consortium formed by the Basque Government, the BBK Foundation and the Indar fund, created by Kutxabank, has won the offer to buy the technology division of Aiesa and hopes that the agreement will be concluded by the end of the year.

Iñaki Ostolaza asks that the working conditions of the workers be the same as those established by the judge to close the sale valued at 11.2 million euros, but with the Works Council the approval is necessary.

The Works Council has not yet approved the sale, as EITB Media has learned. The agreement has been signed following intense negotiations this weekend.
