The Spanish Government

With regard to the situation of pig farms, the Spanish Government has confirmed that, for the time being, no cases of swine pests have been detected in them.

The purpose of this draft regulation is to strengthen security measures in the telecommunications sector, to prevent or reduce the impact of such incidents on the safety of users and to restore communications as soon as possible. Operators must legally ensure the efficiency of 'first level' infrastructures for at least 24 hours and 12 hours for 'intermediate level' infrastructures, which will be classified by the operators themselves.

The Councillor for Governance, Digital Administration and Self-Government states that the Basque Government continues to work within the time limits established and agreed by both parties. Ubarretxena confirms that the Joint Transfer Commission will meet before the end of 2025.

This year's increase will be paid in a single payment with retroactive effects from 1 January, while that of 2026 will have a fixed increase of 1.5%, to which will be added 0.5% by 2027 if inflation so requires.

The President of the Spanish Government has acknowledged the crisis with Junts and has announced that the Council of Ministers will today approve the royal decree-law to make municipal investments more flexible and to make commitments to the party. He has also described the accusations of José Luis Ábalos as "false" and that he did not meet with Otegi in 2018.

The Government will be left with one less Member, since Ábalos has tended to vote in line with the PSOE, and given that Junts has announced his vote against all the Government's proposals, things will become a little more difficult for the Government in Congress.

Supreme Court Judge Leopoldo Puente has decided to temporarily send former Minister José Luis Ábalos and his former adviser Koldo García to prison without bail for alleged irregularities in the sale of masks by the Ministry of Transport during the pandemic. 

In addition to the salary increase, the pact includes staff reinforcement and internal promotion improvements. CCOO has not yet supported the agreement.

The report of the General Council of the Judiciary is mandatory but not binding. The Commission has ascertained that Peramato fulfils the merits and conditions of his appointment as Attorney-General of the State: fifteen years of professional practice as a renowned lawyer. Peramato will now need the approval of the Justice Committee of the Congress of Deputies. 

For her part, the first Vice-President and Minister of Finance, María Jesús Montero, has denied having held this meeting and has confirmed that she is not concerned about what former Minister José Luis Ábalos may say.

The Spanish Government has taken the step hours after Alvaro García Ortiz resigned from office. The Supreme Court has sentenced him to two years' disqualification.

The President of the Spanish Government, Pedro Sánchez, has been asked about the information published by the newspaper 'El Español'  in Luanda, Angola, about the meeting between Arnaldo Otegi, Santos Cerdán and three to agree to a motion of censure, which the president has denied.

The President of the Spanish Government, Pedro Sánchez, has stated that he continues to believe in the innocence of the Attorney General of the State, Alvaro García Ortiz, adding that he does not share the Supreme Court's ruling, but believes that it makes no sense to speak of a pardon.
