50 years after Franco's death, the Official Secrets Act remains unchanged

The Official Secrets Act of 1968 was born within the framework of the Franco dictatorship, and although 50 years have passed since the death of the dictator, its reform has not yet been carried out. The regime of official secrets in force in the Spanish State empowers the Council of Ministers and the Council of Chiefs of Staff to classify information that may endanger the security and defence of the State into two categories: secret and reserved.
