The Basque Parliament

This is an amendment by the PNV and the PSE-EE, after EH Bildu rejected a proposal by EITB for the free transfer of audio content and subtitles in Euskera to international streaming platforms. Contact with international platforms and operators will also be encouraged.

The independent body known as Gardena shall ensure compliance with the law and shall have an area of activity covering all public sector administrations, agencies and entities, both private and private, provided that non-compliance is limited to the Basque Country.

The new Basque Transparency Act will regulate access to public information, citizen participation and lobbyingactivity. The rule has been passed with the support of the PNV and the PSE and rejected by the entire opposition as insufficient and without ambition.

The PNV has tabled three amendments to its proposed law, which aims to "strengthen" the current model, and has made a direct request to EH Bildu to allow the jeltzale approach with at least one "abstention" and, from there, to "evaluate the results" and agree on "new steps" together.

The Health Counsellor has linked the increase in waiting lists to the conflict with the medical collective and has called for dialogue to unblock the negotiation, while warning of the impact on assistance of the extension of the strike.

The lehendakari has defended reporting the origin of the detainees and, in response to a question from Vox, has stated that the UPV "is not adrift."

The people have only been supported by Vox. The other groups have voted against, reproached the PP for making populist use of security and reminded him that the legislative reforms it plans do not fall within the competence of the communities. 

The lehendakari, Imanol Pradales, has denied that the Basque Country is experiencing a "climate of permanent tension", after the president of the Basque PP, Javier de Andrés, has assured us . The lehendakari has recommended to Javier de Andrés that there be "introspection, moderation and restraint".

PNV, PSE-EE, EH Bildu and Sumarr have supported calling on the Spanish Government to renegotiate the administrative validation of collective redundancies, while PP and Vox voted against.

The jeltzale party has pointed out that the Euskera needs an agreement, "which is the important thing now" and has acknowledged that, although it has been negotiating with other parties for months to reach such an agreement, they need more time. "Our proposal aims to promote the use of the Euskera and to shield the OPE from legal security," he has argued.

EH Bildu and Sintre, while supporting its consideration, have criticized the procedure, while PP and Vox have called the reform "laundering."

EH Bildu registered the petition today in the Basque Parliament and requested that the full case study be held before the summer.

The vast majority of the House, with the exception of the PP and Vox, are committed to progressing the free teaching of the Basque language, although EH Bildu, PNV and PSE disagree on the timetable and how to boost their learning in the private sector.
