They have decided to mobilize  "in the face of the judicial, political and trade union offensive against the right to work and live in Basque".

At a meeting with the Amurrio Factory Works Council, the management has reported the suspension of the feasibility plan and collective dismissal, and from now on, all decisions of the company will be taken by an insolvency administration.

ELA and LAB will take to the streets separately, as will ESK and LSB-USO, while CCOO and UGT will mobilize together.

Called by the works council, they have been on indefinite strike since March 15 at the Amurrio plant. ELA, LAB and ESK supported unemployment and CCOO and UGT opposed it. The latter have from the outset demanded that the decision on the strike be taken in a referendum. 

Representatives of SEPNA-FSIE and UGT have called for a reduction in ratios and for the resources released to be used to improve the quality of education.

The Ministry suspended its meeting with the Strike Committee and the Autonomous Communities on Thursday to address the conflict over the Framework Statute on the grounds that one of the parties had "breached" its part. The trade unions have stated that the Ministry's proposal to set up specific tables in the communities is legally "unworkable" without changing the State rules and have therefore refused to do so.

The LAB and ESK unions have called for a more active role on the part of the Basque Government and have called for firm action in defence of industrial employment and greater transparency in the ongoing negotiations. The Government has insisted that the high accumulated debt isthe main problem of  Reunited Tubes.

more than 60 groups have joined the call. The demonstrations will depart at 12:00 in Bilbao (from Sacred Heart Square) and Vitoria (from Bilbao Square), and at 17:00 in Donostia (from Boulevard).

Commissions Obreras denounces a campaign of demonstrations against the union for its attitude towards the Euskera and linguistic profiles. Its Secretary General, Santi Martínez, has also censured the veto on participation in the Korrika and believes that the nationalist unions are acting against them "as an ultra organization would do."
