Tubos Reunion strike starts tonight in Amurrio pending regulatory report
The management will meet this Monday with the trade union representation of the two factories and report on the ERE.
The workers of Tubos Reunidos de Amurrio (Álava) will start a strike tonight, in the night shift, hours before tomorrow, Monday, the management gives details of the ERE. Unemployment will only affect the Alavesa plant, which has not been called in Trapagaran (Bizkaia).
On Monday, the management will meet with the trade union representation of both plants, and Tubos Reunidos will report on the specific impact of the ERE announced at the Trapagaran (300 workers) and Amurrio (900 employees) plants.
Waiting to know the amount of the proposed collective dismissal, the Amurrio committee, the group's main factory, has called for two 24-hour stops on Monday 9 and February 13, when they will meet in Vitoria-Gasteiz with the organizations.
On Monday, at seven o'clock in the morning, the workers will concentrate on the bridge at the entrance to the factory and meet with the management at ten o'clock in the morning.
The joint trade union representation of the two plants that will form the negotiating table for the ERE will consist of eight trade union delegates from the Araba plant and five from the Bizkaia plant, with five members from ELA, three from UGT, two from LAB and CCOO and one from ESK.
Tubos Reunidos has argued for regulation that the US market, its main market, has lost toTrump's steel tariffs.
The unions deny this because they believe that the economic situationis , which has come as a result of mismanagement.
