The Commission, however, does not rule out the resumption of future stops, and for the time being it has called two days of strike and mobilisation for 26 and 28 May.

Most of those meeting today at the Amurrio factory have decided to call off the strike and start 24-hour stops.

A court in Vitoria-Gasteiz last Tuesday declared seven companies belonging to the Tubos Reunidos Group to be in voluntary competition with creditors and appointed PKF-Attest Concursal as their competition administrator.

The purpose of the Assembly is to convey to all workers the assessment of the situation and to establish the lines of action for this new phase marked by the indefinite strike  and the company's creditor competition.

In response to a question from EH Bildu Senator Josu Estarrona, the First Vice-President of the Government and Minister of the Economy, Carlos Cuerpo, has assured that the Government will "in the coming weeks" analyse the situation of Tubos Reunidos, currently in competition with creditors, and has committed itself to exploring "all legal avenues" to seek the viability of a company that it considers "strategic."

Seven companies belonging to the Tubos Reunidos group have been declared in competition with voluntary creditors Gasteiz court, ETA PKFAttest Concursal S.L.P. has been appointed as competition administrator.

On Thursday, 232 workers, supported by CCOO and UGT, voted in favour of ending the strike and reworking against the majority opinion represented by ELA, LAB and ESK. The aim of this measure, according to the company, is for those who wish to return to work to enter and leave the workplace in appropriate safety conditions.

Called by the works council, they have been on indefinite strike since March 15 at the Amurrio plant. ELA, LAB and ESK supported unemployment and CCOO and UGT opposed it. The latter have from the outset demanded that the decision on the strike be taken in a referendum. 

The company has hired the Uria Menéndez office to prepare this possible scenario.

The Alavesa company has earned 1.3 million until March, and sales have fallen 15.4% as a result of US tariffs.

Each union has filed a separate appeal with the High Court of Justice of the Basque Country. They have requested the suspension of the Employment Regulation Dossier, which provides for 242 redundancies, because it is disproportionate and unjustified.  Today the workers are back on the streets in Bilbao. 

Tubacex has factories in Llodio and Amurrio and does not rule out the presentation of the ERTE. 

Another Friday, the workers of Tubos Reunidos have demonstrated in Amurrio and the members of the works council have expressed their disappointment at the decision of the Labour Inspectorate. Three unions, ELA, LAB and ESK, have already announced that they will challenge the ERE next week.

This time the paintings have appeared on the football field in Amurrio, pointing to a certain agent, who has been condemned by the Department of Safety and Security and has denounced that these acts directly attack the values of coexistence and democracy.
