Called by the works council, they have been on indefinite strike since March 15 at the Amurrio plant. ELA, LAB and ESK supported unemployment and CCOO and UGT opposed it. The latter have from the outset demanded that the decision on the strike be taken in a referendum. 

The company has hired the Uria Menéndez office to prepare this possible scenario.

The Alavesa company has earned 1.3 million until March, and sales have fallen 15.4% as a result of US tariffs.

Each union has filed a separate appeal with the High Court of Justice of the Basque Country. They have requested the suspension of the Employment Regulation Dossier, which provides for 242 redundancies, because it is disproportionate and unjustified.  Today the workers are back on the streets in Bilbao. 

Tubacex has factories in Llodio and Amurrio and does not rule out the presentation of the ERTE. 

Another Friday, the workers of Tubos Reunidos have demonstrated in Amurrio and the members of the works council have expressed their disappointment at the decision of the Labour Inspectorate. Three unions, ELA, LAB and ESK, have already announced that they will challenge the ERE next week.

This time the paintings have appeared on the football field in Amurrio, pointing to a certain agent, who has been condemned by the Department of Safety and Security and has denounced that these acts directly attack the values of coexistence and democracy.

The workers of Tubos Reunion at the Amurrio plant demonstrated on Wednesday against the ERE that proposes 242 redundancies. In a mobilisation in Bilbao, union representatives have submitted a letter to the company's offices calling for the file to be withdrawn.

The abertzale power plant has questioned the 2025 results published by the company last Friday because, "despite recording a significantly higher turnover than 2024, the reported losses are higher than those initially reported." ELA has stated that "the management may have used accounting engineering in an interested manner" and questioned its credibility. 

Over the past year, net financial debt has risen from EUR 234.3 million to EUR 263.2 million, owing, among other things, to the impact of the capitalised interest on the FASEE loan.

The Labour Inspectorate, at a meeting held on Wednesday with the committee and the company, found that there were 42 to 47 temporary contracts made in Tubos Reunidos in breach of the law, so the company has had to make these workers permanent, which the unions explained had been extended until 31 March.

The works council held a meeting this morning with representatives of the Labour Inspectorate of the Basque Government in Vitoria-Gasteiz, and during the meeting dozens of workers protested on the doorstep. 

EH Bildu's spokesman,Pello Otxandiano , has stated in an interview with Euskadi Irratia that today he will contact the secretaries-general of ELA, LAB, CCOO and UGT to present the specific proposal put forward by EH Bildu to resolve the issue of language profiles, which is already on the table of PNV and PSE-EE.

More than 200 workers  (152 Amurrio and 53 Trapagaran) have been on voluntary leave, while temporary workers (about 80) will be fired at the end of the month.

The union's Secretary General, Garbiñe Aranburu, has stated that they do not accept the "blackmail" of the company, that is, that they will not accept the need to lay off 300 workers in order to start negotiating the viability of the company.

The company, which has stressed that this objective was a necessary step towards achieving the feasibility plan, set a deadline until 3 p.m. today, Monday.

On the night shift the workers of Amurrio of Tubos Reunited have started an indefinite strike, ending on Friday the consultation period of the ERE file without agreement. 

The strike will begin on the night shift (22:00), but since a four-hour strike is called in advance, the strike will actually begin from 18:00.
