ELA, UGT, LAB and ESK have filed appeals against the regulatory file of Tubos Reunidos
Each union has filed a separate appeal with the High Court of Justice of the Basque Country. They have requested the suspension of the Employment Regulation Dossier, which provides for 242 redundancies, because it is disproportionate and unjustified. Today the workers are back on the streets in Bilbao.
ELA, UGT, LAG and ESK have filed appeals against the Employment Regulation Dossier(ERE) of Tubos Reunidos before the High Courtof Justice of the Basque Country (TSJPV) requesting its annulment, including allegations of formal defects, lack of transparency in the negotiation and lack of grounds for approval of the file.
In its letter, ELArequests the withdrawal of the file on the grounds that it "does not comply with the law." The nationalist union demands "a real industrial plan" to ensure "the maintenance of steel and logistics" and "the absence of forced redundancies."
LABhas also filed its appeal in the morning. "This union has explained that this is a process marked by the lack of transparency, the lack of real negotiation and the imposition of structural measures." It has stressed that the lack of transparency is not only the responsibility of the company. "Nor was there a recent meeting with the Department of Industry of the Basque Government, the deputies and the mayor of Amurrio in which there was no clear response or specific information on the fundamental issues."
For its part, the ESK union has also denounced in its appeal that the file is "disproportionate" and that there is no reason to dismiss 242 workers.
Finally, UGTwill appeal this afternoon. According to this center, during the consultation period there were formal defects, and during the inspection period there were also violations.
The only one who has not filed an appeal has been the CCOO union, which has said that it has disagreed with the majority because the latest proposal put on the table by the management of the workers did not succeed.
Demonstration in Bilbao
On the other hand, the workers demonstrated again today in Bilbao and also concentrated at the gates of the headquarters of Tubos Reunidos.
The Works Council has once again asked the management to revoke the file, not to close the Amurrio steelworks, and to cancel the logistics outsourcing plan.
