Tubos Reunidos has no formal offer at the moment
This has been communicated by institutional representatives to the Works Council at a meeting held this Thursday.
The Tubos Reunion Works Council met this Thursday, June 11, with the Department of Industry of the Basque Government, the Foreign Deputies of Álava and Bizkaia and the City of Amurrio to address the situation opened following the entry into competition of creditors.
Trade unions have claimed that they have received "little information" from today's meeting, which, according to the delegation's sources, "has not served much purpose."
After several months of mobilizing and negotiating with the management, Tubos Reunidos filed an EREon March 23 that raises the dismissal of 285 people at its plants in Amurrio (Álava) and Trapagaran (Bizkaia). Weeks later,in early May, it enteredinto a creditor competition for "immediate insolvency" due to treasury problems.
In mid-May, the workers at the Amurrio plant put an end tothe indefinite strike that had been going on since 16 March and returned to their jobs. The trade union representatives considered that the measures proposed by the company had been withdrawn once they had entered the competitive phase, although "not definitively rejected".
On June 1, the creditor competition manager told workers' representatives that his goal was to find an investor partnerfor the company so that the company would not have to be safe with a split and be viable for the future.
