Moeve gas station workers in Gipuzkoa start a cycle of strikes with the aim of improving working conditions
The first strike began on Thursday at 10 p.m. and will end this Sunday. Mobilizations include a rally this Friday at the AP-8 gas station in Oiartzun.
Workers at the Moeve gas station in Gipuzkoa (former Cepsa) have started a strike cycle on Thursday that will affect 16 petrol stations. Workers have been negotiating the company's internal regulations for several months and "insufficient progress in dignifying working conditions" has led to the convening of a strike cycle, according to the Moeve Press Committee (LAB-ELA).
The mobilizations will affect the service stations of Lasarte-Oria, Villabona, Zumaia, Oiartzun, Etxegarate and Aritzeta, as well as others located in urban areas such as the descent from Hospitals to Donostia, the exit of the motorway from Gaintxurizketa (Irun), Aranaztegi Street (Andoain) and Telleria Street (Bergara), according to the Basque Traffic Directorate.
Coinciding with the summer departure operation, on Friday morning workers will concentrate at the AP-8 service station at Oiartzun towards Bilbao. Bidegi will carry out special surveillance to minimize traffic damage.
To this end, the motorway management teams will strengthen surveillance in coordination with the Directorate of Traffic, with special attention to signalling, and information will be disseminated through the AP-8 information panels to inform users of incidents.
