Two Basque activists from the Global Sumud flotilla are about to arrive in Loiu
175 activists were arrested on Wednesday, 36 of whom have had to be treated in hospitals. All but two, Brazilian Thiago Ávila and Palestinian Saif Abukeshe, have been released.
Two of the Basque activistswho were on board the Global Sumud flotillabound for Gaza will arrive at Loiu airport this evening: Bego and Arantza, who have been waiting for several hours with their friends and platform members.
They were intercepted bythe Israeli army on Wednesday in international waters off Crete.
The other four Basques in the flotilla have stopped in Greece and reported torture and ill-treatment . 36 activists were treated in hospitals after the intervention.
Until yesterday they had been detained in Israeli hands, and all but two were released: the Brazilian Thiago Ávila and the Spanish Palestinian Saif Abukeshe.
Despite his health, the activist Saif Abukesh is in a stateof\u00A0shock , and his wife Sally has explained thatshe has started the hunger strike\u00A0 as a protest.
Lawyers have accused Israel of mistreatment and illegal interrogation.
The Spanish consul has visited him in prison and the Spanish Government has requested the release of Saif.
Flotilla activists say they will continue and reorganize ships.
