Environmental groups, social groups and municipalities, in addition to individuals, have filed 800 allegations against the Feroskana wind farm in Mandoia (Bizkaia), according to the platform against the Mandoia Bizirik project.
This park, consisting of six wind turbines of200 meters high and 27 megawtts of power , would be locatedin the Arratia region and could affect municipalities such as Usansolo, Igorre or Lemoa, as well as smaller towns.
Allegations to the environmental impact study include that it is not included in the Renewable Energy Sector Territorial Plan, that it affects protected birds such as the "huge" heightof wind turbines, the alimoche and the vulture or the proximity of areas of theNatural Network .
They have therefore urged the Department of Industry, Energy Transition and Sustainability to issue a negative Environmental Impact Statement and to refuse permission to build it.
The Mandoia Bizirik platform is made up oflocal collectives such as the Austarri mountain group in Zeberio, the Argiñatx mountain group in Arantzazu, the Ganzabal mountain group in Lemoa, the Burtotza mountain group in Usansolo, the Arratia Zutunak collective, the Kiñu Gaztexea and the Makatza environmentalists.
Allegations have been made that "the large size of the wind turbines is 200 metres high, some of them located a few metres from the houses, which can cause serious damage to health ".
In addition, they warn of "serious deficiencies in the environmental impact study", such as "the rural areas of Igorre (about 4,000 inhabitants), Arantzazu and Arantzazugoya, other neighbourhoods of Igorre (Etxebarri, Mimentza, Elorri and Iturriza), Arteta , Ardantza, Ordaiñe and Isiko (Usansolo) ".
The Platform adds that the wind project "affects the conservation of the spaces of the Natura 2000 network, which is the natural corridor between Urkiola, Gorbeia and Ganekogorta", and "will affect the green lung of Lekubaso, Upo and Mandoia, a multifunctional space widely used by the inhabitants of the main surrounding towns (Zeberio, Usansolo, Bedia, Lemoa, Igorre, Arantzazu, Galdakao.
