The workers of the company Serveo de Basauri, the subcontractor responsible for the maintenance of Bridgestone, have decided to disconvene the strike scheduled for this Monday , following the opening of a new channel of dialogue with the company. This Tuesday there will be a meeting between the management and the trade union representation, since the company has shown its willingness to make changes to the ERE that proposes to remove 22 of the 39 workers.
CCOO of the Basque Country has explained that the company has put on the table a number of improvements, such as compensation of 29 days per year worked without a monthly wage limit, the possibility of pre-retirement for persons over 60 years of age and the creation of four relocation jobs, and that redundancies are planned, as far as possible, through voluntary leave.
However, the union has warned that the offer is "insufficient" and will wait to see if significant progress is made at Tuesday's meeting. "Then we will convene a meeting with the workers to assess the steps to be taken," they said.
The EVE consultation period began on 4 August and, if it continues under the initial conditions , it would affect 57% of workers, with 22 contracts terminated.
