The Serveo has reduced the redundancies of the ERE from 22 to 14, and the workers have started a strike
The company will negotiate one by one with each of the workers made redundant. The unions have reported that they have intercepted Bridgestone workers doing the work of Serveo workers two hours after the strike.
The Serveo plant in Basauri (Bizkaia) started an indefinite strike on Monday after rejecting the conditions of the ERE offered by the company, a subcontract in charge of the maintenance of Bridgestone, which has reduced the redundancies from 22 to 14 (a total of 39 workers) by proposing eight relocations with incentives to go to other workplaces.
CCOO sources have reported that after the end of the ERE consultation period on Monday, the union will sign tomorrow its disagreement with the file and the company will issue the dismissal letters on Thursday.
The company shall negotiate individually with each worker made redundant if it accepts compensation of 29 days per year, with no monthly quota limit, or compensation of 33 days per year for 24 months. The management had previously rejected the possibility of offering early retirement (it would affect six workers).
In addition, it has proposed eight relocations with an incentive of EUR 100 for those to move more than 20 kilometres.
The unions have rejected this proposal and called for a strike, so workers will concentrate this Tuesday at 06:00 on the entrance bridge to the Bridgestone factory in Basauri.
On the other hand, the trade union sections of CCOO and UGT in Bridgestone in Basauri have reported that only two hours after the start of the strike by Serveo workers, Bridgestone workers have been intercepted doing the work corresponding to the subcontractors "so that production does not stop".
