169 medical professionals will start this month in Osakidetza in jobs that are difficult to fill
Osakidetza is finalizing the allocation of 169 places in Primary Care that are difficult to cover in order to strengthen assistance in rural areas, afternoon shifts and PACs. In addition, the Basque Health Service plans to convene a OPE of more than 4,000 places by the end of the year.
This month, the Basque Health Service has begun to incorporate 169 professionals from Family Medicine, Paediatrics, Psychiatry and Child Psychiatry into the difficult places assigned to ensure stability in health centres and clinics that are difficult to cover: rural areas, afternoon shifts and PACs.
Of the places offered, 130 correspond to family medicine, 21 to paediatrics, 12 to extra-hospital psychiatry and 6 to child psychiatry, ofwhich two are vacant . By territory, 100 places have been allocated in Bizkaia, 35 in Gipuzkoa and 34 in Álava.
This is the first selective process of these characteristics promoted by Osakidetza. In addition to meeting care needs, the call provides incentivesfor professionals to continue in jobs that are difficult to fill.
Staffing stabilization is one of Osakidetza's priorities in this legislature. Along with this public offering, the Stabilization Plan 20-21-22, the largest in service history, has recently been completed, with 7,642 jobs offered. At the end of this year, a new regular OPE is planned for 2023, 2024 and 2025 with more than 4,000 places. The examinations will be carried out in 2026 and a new selection modelwill be implemented.
