Along with the Raise Your Head movement, doctors and pediatricians have released a joint report for the first time analysing the negative impact of prolonged exposure to screens on children, including mental health, sleep disorders, anxiety, and obesity, vision problems, and language retardation.

The six medical unions on the strike committee maintain the call for a strike from 15 to 19 June and express their willingness to meet with the Ministry of Health whenever there is a real negotiating will and concrete proposals are on the table.

The Ministry suspended its meeting with the Strike Committee and the Autonomous Communities on Thursday to address the conflict over the Framework Statute on the grounds that one of the parties had "breached" its part. The trade unions have stated that the Ministry's proposal to set up specific tables in the communities is legally "unworkable" without changing the State rules and have therefore refused to do so.

On the other hand, the Zumarraga Hospital will join the protest from 27 April and the hospitals in Bizkaia from 27 May. They have decided to take this new step in view of the fact that the strike in force "has not caused any anger".

The doctors at Osakidetza and Osasunbidea are informing their superiors that they will not perform the voluntary overtime that doctors do in the afternoon and that helps reduce waiting lists, known as "pawns," which will mean, among other things, a reduction in afternoon surgeries.

The unions maintain the mobilization schedule, and if there is no agreement, they will strike again from 27 to 30 April. 

On 27 March, the Interterritorial Council of the National Health System agreed to propose to the trade unions the mediation of the Platform of Patient Organizations. The unions disagree because the platform "is neither neutral nor expert in labour matters". Both parties have agreed to hold further meetings, but in the meantime the doctors maintain the strike planned for the week of 27 April.

After refusing to mediate with the Patient Associations, the medical unions are scheduled to meet at 3 p.m. with the Spanish Ministry of Health to negotiate the statutory dispute.

The health advisers of the Basque Country, Castilla-La Mancha and the Canary Islands have sent a letter to the Minister of Health, Monica García, proposing an independent mediation of the Platform of Patient Organizations to facilitate dialogue between the strike committee and the Ministry and to unblock the strike.

Called by the Basque Medical Union, doctors have joined the demands of the general strike of the 17M. Doctors began their second week of strike yesterday to demand their own status.

Hundreds of medical professionals have called on Monday to respond "with facts" to their demands during demonstrations in the three capitals of the Basque Autonomous Community and have been convinced that they will achieve their objectives "at all costs".

On the occasion of the European Day against Attacks on Health Professionals on Thursday, Osakidetza has detailed that of the total number of attacks reported in 2025, 94 (9%) caused injuries, most of which did not cause casualties. The rest, a total of 953 (91%), were non-injury attacks, such as insults and threats.
