The works council of the Haizea Wec smelter in Salvatierra (Álava), with130 workers , has called anindefinite strike since 2 October due to the "blockade" of negotiations for the renewal of the agreement.
The ELA union, which has a majority of 8 representatives on the committee (LAB has only one), has explained in a statement that the works council has decided by a large majority to call an indefinite strike with 101 votes in favour, 26 against and 3 blank votes.
