The workers of the Wind Wec Fundicion of Salvatierra are going on an indefinite strike
They have denounced the "deadlock" in negotiations for the renewal of the treaty.
The works council of the Haizea Wec smelter in Salvatierra (Álava), with130 workers , has called anindefinite strike since 2 October due to the "blockade" of negotiations for the renewal of the agreement.
The ELA union, which has a majority of 8 representatives on the committee (LAB has only one), has explained in a statement that the works council has decided by a large majority to call an indefinite strike with 101 votes in favour, 26 against and 3 blank votes.
The reason is that the negotiations forthe renewal of the Convention in that smelter company that makes the heads of the wind towers are not progressing. Moreover, ELA regrets that the proposals put forward by the management would be a step backwards .
