The Basque Government has increased the subsidy scheme for the purchase of low-emission cars by EUR 2 million and has asked the Spanish Government to double the budget for the electric car purchase aid programme (Moves III).
The announcement was made at the press conference following the Governing Council by the Industry Advisor of the Basque Government, Mikel Jauregi.
The subsidies have run out and, according to Jauregi, it is essential to increase the budgets of both programmes in order to meet the existing demand.
With EUR 2 million, Jáuregui hopes to meet the demand for low-emission cars. As a first step in meeting the demand, he extended the deadline for applying for aid until 15 October.
