Barakaldo will be the first EU fair to accept bitcoin payments
Cryptocurrency payments or other digital systems will reach the Barakaldo market on November 18 and will be accepted in most of its positions.
Barakaldo's marketwill start using bitcoin in months and will become the first European market to accept virtual payments and will also offer cash and credit card payments as hitherto.
The initiative has been promoted by the Barakaldo Trade, Hospitality and Services Association, together with the Municipal Market, and today they have been testing the payments madewith the\ u00A0digital systems, which will be used in most positions from November 18.
At the end of the information and training phase for the traders concerned, the sellers have verified how bitcoin payments are made, for which they have "secure supports", and the president of the association has explained thatthenew form of payment is "easy and practical" .
The aim is to extend the digital currency to the rest of the municipality.
Bitcoin payment will be made with a qr code . This code will be scanned through an app that will have a commission , just like in card payments. When the purchase is over, the sale ticket will come out.
