PNV and PSE-EE will approve the 2026 Bizkaia Budgets without opposition support
The General Meetings of Bizkaia have rejected the three amendments to the totality tabled by the opposition, so the 2026 draft budget has taken a further step before its final approval.
The Provincial Council of Bizkaia will have new budgets next year because the two parties that make up the coalition government (PNV and PSE-EE) have a majority in the General Meetings. The talks with the opposition parties have not worked, so they will approve the Budgets without their support.
The three amendmentsto the totality tabled by the three opposition groups (EH Bildu, PP and Elkarrekin Bizkaia) were debated and voted on this Friday at the General Meetings, as planned, rejected by the PNV and the PSE-EE and the draft budget went one step further.
At the plenary session of the Gernika Board House, Bizkaia's Finance and Finance Member, Itxaso Berrojalbiz, has explained that negotiations have been under way with the Elkarrekin Bizkaia group until last night, and that they have finally failed to reach an agreement.
The General Assembly groups have tabled 517 amendments, and once three amendments have been rejected in their entirety, the partial amendments will now be debated before the final approval of the draft budget at the end of December.
