A forest worker dies in Amorebieta after being hit by a tree
The accident at work took place around 6:30 p.m. and, despite the presence of health personnel, they were unable to do anything to save his life.
A forest worker died on Thursday in the Ergoien neighbourhood of Amorebieta when he washit by a tree as he climbed to Mount Bizkargi, according to the Basque Government's Department of Security to Europa Press.
The accident atwork took place around 6:30 p.m. and health personnel, firefighters and the Ertzaintza Mountain Rescue Unit were mobilized. Upon arrival, health personnel performed resuscitation exercises on the injured person, but died theredue to the severity of his injuries.
Due to difficulties in getting there, at 9:45 p.m. the body was moved to a place where the vehicles were parked, where the body will be transferred to the forensic anatomical institute.
According to the LAB union, this is the sixth worker killed in a work-related accident this year .
