The ELA Secretary General has called on the President to "position clearly" on the call for the establishment of his own minimum wage

The General Secretary of the ELA Trade Union, Mitxel Lakuntza , has stressed that the minimum wage must be decided here in the Basque Country and has asked the lehendakari, Imanol Pradales, for a clear position in an interview held today, Saturday, in the Goiz Kronika programmeof Euskadi Irratia, in which he has criticized the Basque Government and the employers.

"The majority of Basque society shares the call for the establishment of a minimum wage of 1,500 euros , and we are committed to continuing this struggle, "said Lakuntza, who believes that lehendakari should opt for an interprofessional minimum wage of his own and urge Confebask to negotiate.

ELA's Secretary General has explained that there is no relationshipwith Confebask at the moment. "Unfortunately, they have no intention of settling with us. We have been told four times that they no longer want anything with us," he said.

In this context, the employer perceives "increasingly distant" from Basque society, not only by calling for the establishment of his own minimum wage, but also in the intergenerational context. "" Confebask's position is clear, because he always prioritizes economic interestsover any interest, "he said. 

In this regard, Lakuntza has shown its willingness to continue "questioning and pressuring employers" and to explore new avenues between trade unions.

In addition to defending social rights, the Secretary General of ELA has claimed theright to live and work in Basque   a  has been very concerned about the debate between parliamentarians. 

"There are some agents in favour of the normalization of the Basque Country and there are other agents who do not want its normalization, in this case Eneko Andueza and the PSE-EE are among those agents who do not want the normalization of the Basque Country, "said Lakuntza. 

Next Saturday, theunions ELA, LAB and STEILAS have organized a mobilization to claim the Basque Country .
