The Basque Country has signed a loan of EUR 500 million to renew and strengthen the network of hospitals and health centres in Osakidetza
The expansion, modernization and reform of the Hs of Asur, Galdakao, San Sebastián, Cruces and Txagorritxu, among others, as well as the construction of more than 20 health centres (between 2025 and 2032) 20, including the High Resolution Centre of Durango.
The agreement between the Basque Government and the European Investment Bank was signed today in Bilbao.
This is a decisive step towards implementing the planned investment plan for Osakidetza, including the opening of 21 new health centres .
The agreement, signedby President Imanol Pradales and the President of the European Investment Bank, Nadia Calviño, will enable the Government to make significant investments in infrastructure eta technology, such as the renovation of the Basurto external consultation building.
It will receive the loan in two tranches, today it has received 250 million, with which, among others, the hospitals ofBasurto, Galdakao, San Sebastián, Cruces and Txagorritxu will be expanded, modernized and renovated, as well as (between 2025 and 2032) morethan twenty health centres , including the High Resolution Centre of Durango.
On the other hand, they will invest in technological equipment and the digitisation of the health system.
