Iberdrola expands its profits by 22% until June, driven by Mexican surpluses

Iberdrola has made a profit of 4,336.4 million euros in the first half of the year, 22% more than in the same period of the previous year. This strong upturn is mainly due to the added value obtained from the sale of the business to the Mexican company Cox.
Excluding these unusual factors, the energy company's net profit has grown by 8%, to €3,565 million. Thus, the electricity company has accelerated its investments by 25%, approaching the threshold of €7 billion, of which more than 70% has been spent on strategic markets such as the UK, the US and Brazil.
In terms of generation, it has invested 2.2 billion, and has managed to place 1,600 new megawatts (MW) of renewable capacity.
Iberdrola plans to incorporate 2,100 MW more before the end of the year. In addition, in the long run, the company estimates that it will continue to grow and ensures that it has solid projects to add 15,500 MW of green power between 2025 and 2030, far exceeding the 9,500 MW of its previous plan.
With all this, Iberdrola has confirmed its targets for 2026, a year in which it expects growth of more than 8% in its adjusted net profit.
