Workers at ITVs in Zarautz and Bergara, on strike, report that "the surrounding villages are about to collapse"

Workers at the ITV centresin Zarautz and Bergara (Gipuzkoa) have complained that "the service is not being provided and that the ITV centres in the surrounding villages are about to collapse". Workers have been on strike for 68 days, called by the ELA union. 

Strikers have concentrated on Tuesday alongside the Bergara ITV to denounce that "some workers are threatened by the company" and that "the conflict is stalled."

  
They have called on the Basque Government to 'intervene in the conflict' because, 'as a public service, it is also its responsibility'.
  
In a statement, ELA has stated that on 23 July there was a meeting with the company at the San Sebastián Industrial Relations Council convened by the unions to try to unblock the negotiation , but "the workers' demands were not heeded because the company did not even want to listen to them".
  
The union has asked the management to "reverse some of the decisions taken" and hasreported that a worker on strike  has received a letter of dismissal  and "seven others have received complaints from the company".
  
Finally, ELA has warned that "there will be no agreement unless the company reverses all these measures" and if it continues to do so "it will be impossible to guarantee the safety of the public." Strike workers will demonstrate on September 24at 7:00 p.m. in Bergara.
