A Gipuzkoa educator will be tried on charges of sexually abusing a minor in a Aia facility
The Public Prosecutor's Office in Gipuzkoa is requesting an 11-year prison sentence against an educator at the Iturriotz Azpi juvenile centre in Aia, who is accused of sexually abusing a girl under guardianship between 2019 and 2022, when she wasbetween 13 and 14 years old.
In addition, the educator allegedly assisted the minor twice in his escape from the facility and took him home. The prosecution charges him with a continuing sexual abuse offence and the victim has no psychological consequences, according to a medical examination.
The minor had been in the custody of the Provincial Council of Gipuzkoa for many years, and the Public Prosecutor's Office was informed of the case from the outset. The trial will take place this month in the First Section of the Provincial Court of Gipuzkoa. The victim is already of ageand the Council will not be able to act in defence of him at the trial.
