The A-15 motorway will be fully operational this weekend in Gipuzkoa to complete the works of the Oindolar and Gorosmendi tunnels and start work in Belabieta.
The Leitzaran motorway will be cut in both directions , from 22:00 on Friday to 06:00 on Monday, from the Berastegi link (Andoain sense) and the Sorabilla link (Pamplona sense).
As long as it is closed, the N-1 or the A-10 (Sakana Highway) will be used. The GI-2130 (Tolosa to Leitza) and the GI-2135 (Tolosa to Lekunberri) will be used exclusively for residents.
The Provincial Council of Gipuzkoa has reported in a note that the final phase of the rehabilitation of the tunnels of the A-15 will begin this weekend. On Friday the works of the tunnels of Gorosmendi and Oindolar are expected to be completed and, from Monday, they will be fully opened after several months of work. Next, work will begin on the tunnel of Belabieta in the direction of San Sebastian.
In addition, the works in Belabieta will cause the tunnel to be closed for twelve months in the Donostia-San Sebastián sense and a bypass will be installed in the Pamplona sense. For one year, the passage of vehicles with dangerous loads will be restricted and the gauge limits will be applied in the A-15 between the Berastegi and Sorabilla links: 4.5 metres high, 3 metres wide and 20.55 metres maximum length.
